The Practitioners
Sita Payne Romero, LMT, CD, HCHI, HCHD
Along with Heather, Sita is the co-owner and founder of Mellow Moms. She has had the pleasure of working with hundreds of expectant couples over the years through her devotion to holistic care for pregnant families. She is a certified Hypnobabies Instructor. Her years of experience teaching Hypnobabies, prenatal yoga and attending births enrich her classes, creating a comprehensive approach to childbirth preparation. Her background as a licensed massage therapist, specializing in prenatal massage brings a special expertise in helping women learn how be comfortable throughout their entire pregnancies. Sita believes in teaching expectant moms what they can do to minimize pregnancy discomforts through exercise, yoga, prenatal massage and hypnosis. As a doula, Sita’s philosophy is to learn about each couple’s vision for their birth and adopt that philosophy to best support them. Whether that philosophy embraces a different childbirth preparation course, a plan for medication or a cultural need during the birth, Sita is committed to supporting each couple as unique individuals.
Heather Harper Palmer, FCP
Along with Sita, Heather is the co-owner of Mellow Moms. After more than 10 years working with expectant and new mothers, she is excited to realize a vision for cohesive, comprehensive support for women at all stages of their reproductive lives. She hopes that all moms served by Mellow Moms will feel comfortable and confident about their changing roles as women and mothers. As a FertilityCare Practitioner, Heather seeks to teach women to appreciate the intricacy of their reproductive cycle and to understand how it is affected by their overall health. It is her goal that every woman value her fertility and be empowered to protect and improve it. As a doula, Heather weaves traditional training with years of experience into a mantle of care, compassion, and protection for every birth. Heather feels that the doula’s most important goal is to advocate for the wishes of the expectant parents, ensuring that their wishes and values be honored first. She has supported mothers in hospital, home, and stand-alone birth center settings. Recently, Heather has had the opportunity to focus on helping mothers achieve successful vaginal deliveries after Cesarean (VBAC) and is especially well-versed in the needs of this particular group of birthing women.
